Why Train Grip Strength?

Whether you are an avid lifter, fight for sport, like to rock climb or love gymnastics, grip strength in the fingers, wrists, and forearms can dramatically increase your skill. For lifters, increased grip strength allows them to train with heavier weights for harder workouts. For rock climbers and gymnasts, increased grip strength allows them to hold onto more complex bars and rock holds for longer.

How to Use:

FAQ:

Does it have resistance going both ways, or just one?

The Sidewinder Grip Twister provides resistance training when twisted in both directions.

Will the difficulty increase as I twist it or does the difficulty stay the same?

Great question! There’s a smaller knob that adjusts the difficulty while you spin it. If you already have the difficulty set, it will provide the same amount of resistance throughout your workout.

Does the Sidewinder make a lot of noise when you use it?

When it is cold, sometimes it may make a light squeaking noise, but that goes away after the first minute or so of use. It may also make a subtle swooshing sound with each turn.

The concept is great and I like it for the most part but they left a lot of meat on the bone when designing it. If the round piece with the black cap you see in the center of the unit in their advertisement picture were about 1/4" taller you could have been able to grab it and use it as a pinch strength workout. As it is now it's impossible to grab and therefore it's a huge wasted opportunity to make the product more functional. Also, then it's tightened all the way, it can still be turned, if it were a little tighter there would be more range to the workout you can get and it would be more functional. This piece is large and heavy and, in my opinion, it does not deliver what it could for the size and bulk that it is. It seems like there's a lot of wasted space. Such a large piece, it just seems like it should be more satisfying. In my opinion it under performs.

It's ok. One size does not fit all.

There's a lot to strengthening. I'd know based on my line of work. Fitment of equipment is important and this needs to come in both 1/2 diameter and 3/4 diameter variants. It's not satisfying at all to use for me due to it being a poor fit. I could gain some strength, but not optimal strength and there are risks of unnecessary tendonitis, and other orthopedic issues. It's the same as lifting incorrectly, etc. Better products exist out there. I saw something from a competitor I may try.

Solid piece of equipment

This is a tightly built device. Great knurling. Smooth action. Gratifying weight in your hands. Circumference is ample to the average size hand. A larger model might be worth it for the really big folks. No regret whatsoever on this investment.
