The Country Crush Raptor is a one-hand rolling handle built for arm wrestlers and grip athletes who want to train the exact angle they pull at. One free-spinning grip on a steel frame with three mounting points: clip in at the center for a straight pull, or off-center to load the pinky side or the thumb side and bias the fingers that do the work at the table. Clip it to a loading pin or a cable stack and lift. Made in the USA by Country Crush.

What It Trains

On a fixed handle your fingers hook under the bar and your wrist helps. On the Raptor the grip spins freely, so the only thing holding the weight is finger and thumb pressure against the grip. That isolates crushing grip, thumb strength and wrist stability, and it is why rolling handles are the standard training tool in arm wrestling and grip sport.

The three mounting points are what set the Raptor apart from other one-hand rolling handles. Mount at the center and the load sits evenly across the hand. Mount at either end and the handle tilts under load, so you have to fight the roll with your pinky and ring finger on one side or your index finger and thumb on the other. That is the closest thing to table pressure you can get from a loading pin.

Which Size to Start With

The grip diameter sets the difficulty. A smaller grip lets your fingers wrap and hold more weight; a larger grip forces an open hand and makes the same weight far harder to hold.

  • 1.5" and 1.75": smaller hands, younger athletes, and anyone new to rolling handles.
  • 2": the standard size and the one most arm wrestlers train on. If you are not sure, start here.
  • 2.5" and 3": open-hand training for experienced lifters and for building the wide grip used against bigger opponents.

Grips swap in seconds and every size fits the same frame. Add sizes later from the Country Crush grips page; the Raptor takes a single grip, so buy singles. If you already own grips, choose Frame Only.

How to Use

  1. Clip a carabiner through the mounting point you want: center for an even pull, either end to bias one side of the hand.
  2. Clip the carabiner to a loading pin and load plates, or to a cable stack.
  3. Grab the grip with a neutral wrist and lift. Keep the handle from rolling by squeezing the grip. If you let the weight settle into curled fingers the way you would on a fixed bar, the grip will spin out of your hand.
  4. Work in sets of 3 to 6 reps for strength, or hold at the top for 10 to 20 seconds for static endurance. Train both hands.
  5. Add weight when every rep finishes under control. Move up a grip size when the current one no longer rolls out of your hand at a hard weight.

Raptor or Country Crush Handle?

The Raptor trains one hand at a time with a single grip and three mounting angles. The Country Crush Two-Hand Revolving Handle has two grips for training both hands together, which suits heavy rows, curls and high-volume forearm work. Most serious arm wrestlers end up with both; if you are buying one, the Raptor is the better match for table-specific one-hand training. The same grips fit both frames.

FAQ

Does it come with a grip?

Every size option includes one grip in that size. Frame Only is the bare frame for people who already own grips.

Do I need two Raptors to train both hands?

No. Train one hand, then the other, with the same handle. A pair is almost never needed.

What do the three mounting points do?

Center gives an even pull. The two end positions tilt the handle under load so one side of your hand has to fight the roll, which is how you target the pinky side or the thumb side the way you would at the table.

Which size should I buy first?

2" if you are not sure. Go to 1.5" or 1.75" for smaller hands or a first rolling handle; 2.5" and 3" are for open-hand training once 2" is comfortable.

Can I use it on a cable machine at the gym?

Yes. Clip it to the cable stack with a carabiner. It will not damage the machine, and it fits in a gym bag.

What is the difference between the Raptor and the Country Crush Handle?

The Raptor is one-hand with three mounting angles. The Country Crush Handle is two-hand with two grips. Both take the same grips.
